Token-based auth: the emailed token IS the authorization (capability-token design, as /g/{token}); no session. Paid and expired states still return 200 so the page can render “already paid” / “This link is no longer valid”. A proposal an operator CANCELLED is 410 proposal_cancelled (JSON) or the same “This link is no longer valid” page with status 410. With Accept: text/html the gateway serves the hosted checkout page instead of JSON.
